I've often said that the one thing that would make the biggest difference in my creative output is just having a responsible adult (or two, or three) nearby with whom I could share the load of basic life maintenance duties. Doesn't even have to be a wife... haha.

I love errand friends! But I don't have many of them. Up until just a few months ago, my friend @popegrutch took me on a grocery shopping stock-up trip every month, but then he moved out of town, so those outings came to an end. I have one other friend in Portland that I sometimes do errands with. What I'd like most, though, is meal-sharing. Cooking for one (plus shopping, cleaning, and meal planning) gets awfully tiresome.

perhaps "meal preps" with friends would be for you. many people dedicate a sunday afternoon to planning out, and pre-prepping all the meals for a week, so they take minimal time to deploy. Invite a friend, go shopping, put on some music, pour some wine, absolutely fuck up that kitchen, and then everyone leaves with an armload of premade meals for the week.

I've tried to set something like that up several times before. Because of various constraints of my situation (non-driver, dietary needs, health conditions, budget, kitchen setup, schedules, distance of friends from my home, etc.), it requires a level of coordination that makes it largely untenable for me. However, I'm working toward changing my living situation, so I hope one day it'll be a realistic option.
