Sad reality is this isn’t new. 

Crypto conferences have explicitly chosen to not use these technologies for their own event or with the vendors they hire.

Ticketing, payments, comms, prizes, etc.

even the ticketing was jank. I was a sporkdao contributor, just couldn't get my ticket working.
