Seriously. Making people paranoid about what they are doing and sucking the joy out of everything. Its sucks to see.

agreed. users shouldn't have to think about anything. just post whatever they want and it's our job to figure out whether it's relevant to someone else. it should "just work"

but i do think it's worth warning the actual spammers

Oh yeah, I was putting the onus on them, not you. I think devs are doing what they need to and also enforcing proper alignment with their TOS'. Just hearing it all at the same time (esp with the hangover from PBs) make people a little jumpy. 

This is the only way.
