I woke up this morning in Tokyo to 2 casts from @dwr.eth regarding future of Farcaster As a developer building on Farcaster, I found them to be a bit contradictory, unsettling, & overly defeatist. fwiw we're steadily integrating pieces of the protocol into gallery and i want to call out that the FC team has been quite supportive in providing resources thus far seems like the main question is around the purpose of WC: simple demo / GTM for the protocol, or best-in-class dapp with novel features that drive DAU?

i also see the value in being able to build high-conviction features yourself at this stage. if FC team believes that the revealed pref towards in-app minting will drive protocol DAU, they could either bake it into WC to quickly test the hypothesis or ask the dapps to consider adding to their roadmap - and wait

It's both, but best-in-class for a specific "behavior". There will be a ton of apps built on this protocol and most will look very different from WC. At the same time, a simple, strong client serves as a good example and sell to other builders. It also makes it easier to onboard new users smoothly.
