I’ve bitten my tongue a bit as I’ve been exploring ETH L2’s and trying to get an opportunity with @coinbase After spending a considerable amount of time over the past year on Base and to a lesser extent other Ethereum L2’s and L3’s I can say unequivocally that it is an awful user experience. Fragmented liquidity, expensive bridging with long wait times, and very few interesting tokens Base’s current identity is a centralized, corporate chain that produces copycat tokens en masse and incinerates money of investors + traders. There’s plenty of crypto native people (like me) who are yearning for an opportunity to help bring the world onchain. Unless big changes are made Ethereum will continue to lose market/mind share vs Solana and any other upstarts that strategically innovate TLDR: ETH experience is awful and unless it is course corrected asap Solana will continue to eat its lunch SOL/ETH ⬆️

Don't mistake my remark to be positioning Solana as the Facebook in this scenario. Solana is basically Club Penguin

i agree i dont think solana will be very relevant in 10 years either probably we will all be on a chain that is either almost unknown now or still in heavy development and not the slow coast stage yet

I can’t say with confidence if Solana will be relevant in 10 years. I can say with certainty that it’s the best L1 experience currently Can also say that there’s a ton of salty eth holders who at some point could abandon ship and provide capital flows elsewhere. A lot of people underestimating Solana imo - high throughput L1, cheap, easy to use, best mobile experience, etc

i do agree its a well centralized ecosystem and much more accessible then for example cosmos. for me the one potential other strength in support of solana is all the hardware projects built on it like that vpn, the weather station network, etc. but like eth i feel like there tech debt might catch up at somepoint as we are still less then 20 years into blockchain era

Great points, interesting and unique projects happening on Solana. It’s not a coincidence, it’s the only blockchain that these services could run on
