Week 2 of 24/7 Linux and I don't understand the move towards snap on Ubuntu:
- webapps running on Firefox can't use locally installed fonts
- VS Code broke yesterday and I had to roll it back to a previous version
- Obsidian also broke
- Krita randomly crashes

These are relatively popular apps that just don't work!

Yeah but I want to use official packages and the software I want to use e.g. Krita doesn't have them. This is why I'm going the multiple VM setup  as well -- so that I'm more comfortable running unofficial packages if I need to

Eghhh... Just use Flatpaks? 🙃 
(you know you can use them on Ubuntu, right?)

Although I love Ubuntu, it has proven to me over the years that it is not stable os for me.

Sqlite not the best for housing stuff you don't want to lose I'm afraid... but maybe looking into this as a replication solution (not a backup tho):

Yesterday, the SQLite file I was managing on my local PC got corrupted, and my mental state went down with it 🤯 
Fortunately, I had been storing a backup in MySQL, so I was able to restore the previous data
However, all the data after the error has been lost, so I urgently shut down the server after the announcement

Yes but still you have more control over your data as compared to windows.

Debian would probably be way more stable, but who has the energy to switch OSes these days? 👀
