Weirdest US thing is no taxes on the price sheets You think it costs X and get hit by tax More insane is reading it costs X on a restaurant menu and then X + mandatory service charge + tax + being asked for an additional tip Just give me the price and I‘ll say I want it or nah😅

I heard a theory this is a matter of principle for some because it forces you to be aware of taxes your representatives are making you pay. An interesting argument.

that makes sense, though I look at the bill anyway and know it's 19% (germany has it standardized) If you want to show it to me, you could also go X+tax (X*taxrate) on the price tag or menu 😅 just confusing to me
