Fun side story on why there's 10 different @automod accounts. When moderation switched to require likes on protocol it created a problem: you only get 2,500 likes per storage unit, after that its fair game for hubs to prune old reactions. Well, some channels like /lp are very high volume. They could do 30k casts in a single day which means others channel's likes would be dropped and no longer shown in Main. Thing is, even though @dwr.eth and @v alluded something like this might be necessary, I didn't fully process what they meant until about 8h before channels pivoted over. So I went with this: take all the high volume channels, about 5 or so, and dedicate separate accounts like @automod-ringo, @automod-davinci for them. That gives them 2,500 casts worth on their feed each, more than anyone would page through. Then take all the free accounts, beef up the storage and put them on the shared account @automod (its now got capacity for 500k likes, s/o caststorage . com). cont'd

Problem was I had no automated way to provision these accounts, so hours before launch I was frantically provisioning new automod accounts on my phone in Warpcast manually, do you know how slow and painful this is? 😂 After a few accounts warpcast bugged out, I hit 'Recover with Email" to try to reset the flow and got completely locked out of all accounts. I couldn't even login to @jtgi to test, do anything or tell people i fucked up the launch. The only thing I could think to do was use someone else's phone, so I cabbed home from my coworking space at 2am and used my wife's. It worked. And that's the story of how I onboarded my wife to Farcaster.

Footnotes: 1. Seriously don't hit 'recover with email' if you manage multiple accounts on warpcast or you'll be locked out of all accounts until a human (afaict) resolves it. Thankfully dan saved my ass a few hours later. 2. It was stressful at the time but I love looking back on launch shenanigans like this. I have a few for Twilio and Manifold too. The difference this time was I didn't have any teammates, it was one of the few times I really missed being on a team. 3. In hindsight I don't think any hub/client implemented pruning yet so probably not even necessary.
