i never remember whether its spelled guage or gauge... its obvious in hindsight but somehow not obvious when typing

There are so many times I have to take a few seconds to think about the right spelling for British vs. US spelling conventions - eg color vs colour or rumor vs. rumour - stemming from my early education.

yeah I gave up on that and just type as it naturally comes. ends up in a weird mix of both
