It’s subscription fatigue, essentially Then: i.e. DVDs in a world where ownership was cumbersome, streaming was a great innovation that made sense Now: in a world where I have to pay for rent for everything- it’d be nice to own the digital land I plow on once again.

digital allows both ownership and convenience, we just havent brought on the mass market audience on the ownership train yet problem still remains for physical where ownership and convenience are still at odds

I pay Kindle and iTunes to buy (i.e. not stream monthly) books and movies Would def prefer to own them outright instead of having a license agreement that still allows them to close my account, etc.
