could @clanker add a tokenURI function and allow creators to set a custom metadata renderer?

unlocks onchain artwork on erc20s

then anyone could build their own front-end to view/interact with and trade artworks living on clanker tokens

thinking here is the clanker team seems focused on building cool token infra, keeping things open-ended, and letting people experiment and see where it goes

seems like a good place for artists to explore a visual layer on tokens

A few notes on this mechanic:

1. This is trustless. It happens in the smart contract because the art is onchain. I'm not manually redacting.

2. Image can be restored by sending $CHAOS to wallet with art (buying back, receiving donations, etc.)

3. My favorite... we can burn some artwork. And it will become redacted. BUT as we burn more $CHAOS the burn address will become a large holder of $CHAOS and the art will be restored.

Lots of room to play in this space. I did an experiment with onchain pixels where they’d disappear if you dumped the associated clanker lol.

I’ve been wondering this as well! Zora’s limitations seem fine for the masses, but for those technically inclined, feels limiting

seems like you could do it with any erc20 contract that has function to change uri - even thirdweb has this
