Seeing my genesis artifact on @rodeodotclub minted 7.24.24 being the first & one of only things @riotgoools / @elle collected made me smile with happiness & immediately tear up in sadness thinking about how all my favorite artists, chose peace & left or have remained & haven’t known peace since spring of 24 V.I.P. 🫂

(◕‿◕)♡ every time i think about writing about all the things that let me down the past few years, i kind of shut down. i don't particularly want to call out ppl/projects bc i know lots of good ppl who still work on those projects. they just went in a direction i could no longer follow and maybe that's more of a me thing anyways. better to just pursue peace if/where u can ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I understand. I feel the same way. If I was able to completely disconnect. I would have done so back in May. Since I’ve muted, unfollowed, but exposure still is forced onto my feed. Also feel the same about good people on teams going in not so great directions. My empathy is over tuned, so this all reminds me of passionate video game devs who have no say so, but still get attached to decisions of micro transactions. I make sure to just be transparently objective. Share honest feedback as a power user. Equal love & critical. It’s important in a new industry that’s also a bubble hugbox to be vocal w/o an agenda. This sector has just become very bad at PR & community. Can’t handle critical feedback. but it’s not just this industry, healthcare, gaming, policy, social, etc. weird times I can’t avoid being exposed to unless I’m allowed to fully unplug. Which I can’t. <3

yeah other ppl have their own reasons to go one way or another. i also have to accept that other ppl are doing things/going in directions that don't align with what i want to do. i may not agree with it but it's not up to me to decide where they want to go. all i can do is control my own path so i just try to make sure i'm on the one i want to be on ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ran of character limit. Haha. So it’s as simple this, it’s something any live service business will end up fail if they don’t recognize the importance of…. And you & are I are perfect example to show this applied and not just In theory. Passion VS Apathy. Both are valid, but from a business survival pov. The path to protect peace due to feeling unheard or misalignment resulted in the platforms were referring to losing your participation, as a creator, as a collector. My path is less peaceful, but I’m very active, w/o pause as both artist & collector. It’s verifiable consistency that helps add weight to any feedback being given. Which in live service is critically valuable for sustainability long term. This part doesn’t apply to just this space, but across all live service sectors, if you just focus on metrics, create a hugbox illusion & ignore the passionate long term users. Inflated numbers won’t save you long term. Honest feedback, even critical is a form of love :)
