homepage update! finished drawing the new sprite walk cycle animations (also cleaned up the sprite design a bit. changes are tiny but i think it looks much better.) i also added a closet and an alternate outfit (βŒ’_βŒ’;) on the 2d version of the page, i tightened up the html. since i think i feel pretty close to nailing down the general layout for the 2d pages, i replaced all the generic placeholder divs i was using with semantic html tags full update post on the homepage blog ^-^ https://ellesho.me/page/

My good it's small. Even when my CRT was like 17" at 800 x 600 websites weren't that microscopic. But it's pretty cool regardless πŸ”₯✨

that's what your browser's cmd/ctrl +/- zoom control is for! (ΰΉ‘>α΄—<ΰΉ‘)

But seriously, there is a simple way to define a scale factor according to a type/res/pixel density of the screen πŸ€” You can use simple @media query and a couple of extra classes. I think it'll make the experience more comfortable too. But that's more of a suggestion

yeah i know. i'm mainly going off of my 13" macbook screen which, to me renders in a cozy size at default zoom. it's supposed to be on the smaller side to evoke a tiny gameboy screen but i should test on larger screens at some point to see if the default zoom is unbearable (βŒ’_βŒ’;)

Yeah, I get it, I also was searching for that golden ratio and scale vs no-scale for years. It's just I caught myself almost pressing my face against the screen while browsing the cute thing X'D

perfect ^-^ but yeah, it's a ongoing work in progress. i don't think i was intending to keep this layout for very long. i originally made it as just a fun "under construction" element. but i've been enjoying adding to it so i guess it's sticking around for now Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

I have a crazy idea for you to deliver the concept completely. D-pad and buttons as a part of really acurate lightweight frame around the middle section X'D

i actually considered that early on! but i get kind of annoyed on websites that have something like that when i know click and touch are available (again defaulting instead of making redundant stuff.) i also considered arrow keys/wasd to move as well which i think is something i'm more likely to add than visual d-pad

Agree, but it depends on execution. Nicely made floating controllers in the style that suits the page could add to the overall hendheld console vibe. Also that "mode" can be optional, basically on/off for visual controls. But that's hard to decide in terms of keeping design clean and balanced.
