"Rewilding is a way to collectively see the counterintuitive truth; today’s internet isn’t too wild, even if it feels like that. It’s simply not wild enough." incredible essay about ecosystem health, power concentration, and diversification https://www.noemamag.com/we-need-to-rewild-the-internet/

"today’s internet isn’t too wild, even if it feels like that. It’s simply not wild enough" Elegantly presented and constructed. Thank you for sharing! Imma read again for more impressions. Immediate thoughts are focused on the informed stakeholders, as it impacts both tech & regulation.

i think the parts about regulation are interesting. if there must be regulation, it should be the kind that prevents power concentration and web domestication bc that ultimately undermines the internet and makes it fragile

totally agree. i need to reread, but while they introduced regulation i felt they spent a bunch of time (necessarily) on what you described, but i was wishing for more verbiage regarding incentivizing fair, open practices by smaller agile groups. they started talking about this near the end. was curious how they felt.

There's an alignment issue of companies meeting the essential needs of the internet with for-profit incentives. I think we are currently seeing the crypto world struggle to balance their openweb values with competitive edge. (proof of stake proving to be more popular to attract $$ despite power concentration issues)
