i agree too. lately i've been trying to write a similar essay and thinking a lot about what percentage of online time ppl spend in social media versus other. i think social is only 20% for me but i get the sense that it's much higher for others (some may even be close to 100%)

i think there is also plenty of consumption to be had outside of social too. and maybe more meaningful consumption. social internet, to me, is often like the cliffsnotes of the internet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
