i really want to ask them what the upside is to this? is it for likes on IG or whatever equivalent? seems so pointless to me.

the reason I don't care to have many photos of myself:

first, who really cares
second, the view is far better with me removed...trust me 
third, I don't post pics for validation, but quite literally to share the experience from afar and maybe in some small hope someone who sees will want to experience it in person too
