I still associate bittensor with this narrative. What are people’s thoughts re- bittensor? 

fwiw my thoughts -
First heard about it around August last year. Price was (depending on the day) $50 or less. I ummmed and ahhhhed as to whether to buy some or not.

I did not. 

I thought it seemed too much like a cult (in hindsight I’ve realised this is actually a pro, not a con).

I didn’t like the idea of it being a polkadot parachain fork - seemed clunky.

I thought it was too early. How could we have known what we needed from an all-purpose ai x crypto platform? They seemed to have it all worked out, but what if turned out people needed something completely different?
