Some people are 10x more pleasant to work with than others. This is a really important thing to focus on: make people enjoy working with you, it creates win-wins all over the place.

I highly disagree with this - it cuts out many solid employees that maybe just don't fit into the current working culture, but are perfectly technically capable—for example, autistic people range from high to low needs. Being one of them, I know that most people need to warm up to my "straightforwadness".

I have worked with plenty of people on the spectrum that were super pleasant to work with, and plenty of charismatic assholes. There are ways to be a great coworker which have nothing to do with social skills: being reliable, helping unprompted, being direct, etc…
