Something that seems like a “Hello World” app for crypto - but still doesn’t have a good example - is a commitment app with crypto. There have been several attempts to build one (at least that I know of), but everyone tends to overcomplicate it with smart contracts, oracles, ZKs, etc. Meanwhile, normal people literally use group chats and PayPal for commitment groups. A crypto analog should be simpler than that - not more complicated.

I saw it but haven’t tried it - there are some very crypto related public challenges you can join, and it seems like that’s all. I hope this doesn’t sound offensive, but I just want an app that helps create something like group chats with internet people and manage payments, for fun. When the app is called a “protocol,” it feels like overengineering for this type of problem.

totally. appreciate the feedback, Nastya! we're moving towards exactly in that direction - a fun, social app to commit to things with your friends vs manually managing everything in a group chat. atm focused on abstracting away as much of crypto friction as possible and building more social mechanisms
