how to build an engineering team for an early-stage startups for a while my thinking was that the best "bang for your buck" was to hire promising junior people, and build a team of them around capable, more senior founders I still think this model works well for a lot of startups, especially ones with a lot of founders and ones where the technical challenges aren't too thorny but I think now I lean towards hiring senior, independent people first
