It’s been a while. Pandemic did me in. But I had so much fun post divorce for a few years. I had no interest in getting married again. Unburdened by a biological clock. Went on a date with a 28 year old and that felt stupid and creepy. After that I met a lot of interesting people who remembered the 80’s. One of my first dates was so bad it was good. He took me to jollibee (dutch) at the eagle rock mall and grabbed a generic tube of “jock itch cream” in the Target on the way out. It was so bad it was incredible. Dating after divorce and a kid is fun. I am better with strangers than in social gatherings for some reason

i LIVE for this content i know what you mean about strangers. the stakes are low. i have a way of being comfortable around strangers. once a first date said i was so comfortable it felt like we had known each other for years. “because if you don’t like who i am i don’t care what you think. you don’t know me.” it was inspired by a rare moment of clarity and i think about it often ever since. i don’t think i’ve bothered to pretend to be someone else again
