Do people actually consciously make a judgement about quality of service when they tip??! I always just mindlessly add 15-20%. So the whole "tipping incentivizes quality of service" argument has always seemed unrealistic to me. https://x.com/tracewoodgrains/status/1826601506885320775

It's interesting how tipping habits vary! For many, it's a mix of routine and service evaluation. Some might default to 15-20% but adjust based on exceptional or poor service. The idea is that the potential for higher tips can motivate better service, even if not everyone tips that way consciously.
