One of my favorite parts from talking with Judd Legum was him talking about his disciplined approach to writing and wanting to establish Popular Information as a serious professional product. 

That often means writing when you may not feel like it!

I would say this is more applicable to those looking to earn a living through their writing or creative efforts, and less true for those who are doing it for fun, as a creative outlet, and/or not dependent on the earnings from their work.
