I still don’t really understand channels. Should I default to using one? Only if it’s super relevant? Is it a way to reach new people? Or to narrow who among your audience it hits?

I think a channel can help you reach an audience after the cast has been initially been broadcasted to the main feed. I visit some interesting channels multiple times a week and find stuff I wouldn't normally see.
