Work doesn't get easier the better you are at it. It's foolish to think of the grind as something transient on a path towards effortless mastery down the line. Even the greatest masters submit to struggle in their process. Even after writing some of the greatest literary hits of his time, George Orwell described book writing a "horrible and exhausting struggle".
