Every time I've bought a coin because I thought the person launching it had a big enough reputation that the coin would do well, and I feel like I got a good entry, it has been a flop. I feel like from first principles I know this is true but I still end up buying these for whatever reason

from what I've seen the token does pump and then it crashes. I don't think tokens can sustain the pump unless there is a continuous set of activity that drives attention which might be difficult task for an individual to pull off. probably explains why tokens like Clanker ,ANON, and couple of others have grown/
