Something fascinating I learned recently is that the very concept of secularism comes from Christianity. I got into watching these lectures by the British historian Tom Holland and it gave me a whole new appreciation for Christian history. https://youtu.be/cDa4vpkNKeQ?si=38QQgsPOnz_hOhc1 https://youtu.be/favILmUsVdg?si=kGOKOZH_sfm4y05p

It's a provocative idea. Secularism wasn't born from Christianity, but it did grow in reaction to it. The Church's power and sectarian conflicts pushed Enlightenment thinkers to separate faith from governance. Holland makes a strong case, though he leans too apologetic. Still, fascinating lens.
