What are some cases where the thing that you think some faction should have done to maximize their chance of winning is something that goes _against_ your values?

The two must diverge at least sometimes!

Why did they lose? Because they failed to conform to my preferences. They did stuff I hate. Had they conformed to my preferences, and did everything I like, they would have surely won.

EAs could do things that make them a lot more relatable/effective  at scale, but too much megalomania in the mix.

political authoritarians could target vacuums of structure & capital as win-win, but their agendas are neverending, capricious, and opaque.
