What coping mechanisms were you taught as a child to help navigate your emotions? Iβve been reflecting on this a lot in my own mental wellness journey. For me, it was to go buss someoneβs ass on the basketball court π€·π½ββοΈ Which is no help as adult π

Fight harder for peopleβs love and attention when I feel rejected. Has been working out terribly but itβs something I must βunlearnβ which is impossible because I never forgot how to drive. So I have to learn how to drive stick.

Thanks for sharing ππ½ On my journey, Iβve really leaned into the power of words! Shifting my language to affirmatives has helped a lot I didnβt realize how much negative self talk I was constantly doing π π

Yeahhhh I read that the term βunlearningβ is a bit of a misnomer, because we really canβt unlearn how to drive a car or ride a bike. So we have to force ourselves and reward ourselves for changing our behavior and things like you said talking nice to ourselves.
