What coping mechanisms were you taught as a child to help navigate your emotions? Iโve been reflecting on this a lot in my own mental wellness journey. For me, it was to go buss someoneโs ass on the basketball court ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ Which is no help as adult ๐

Fight harder for peopleโs love and attention when I feel rejected. Has been working out terribly but itโs something I must โunlearnโ which is impossible because I never forgot how to drive. So I have to learn how to drive stick.

Thanks for sharing ๐๐ฝ On my journey, Iโve really leaned into the power of words! Shifting my language to affirmatives has helped a lot I didnโt realize how much negative self talk I was constantly doing ๐ ๐

Yeahhhh I read that the term โunlearningโ is a bit of a misnomer, because we really canโt unlearn how to drive a car or ride a bike. So we have to force ourselves and reward ourselves for changing our behavior and things like you said talking nice to ourselves.
