Did you know that California limits the number of licenses available for fire sprinkler installers in the state? They use a quota system, and politicians and cops are known to horde and resell the licenses as soon as they're available. The number of sprinkler installers is so low, those contractors barely have to work and rake in huge amounts of cash. My neighbor is one and works three days per week and has two houses and 6 rv's on his lot. They keep scarcity artificially high so they can profit from fire danger.

My next-door neighbor is a fire system contractor and brags about it loudly, all the time. Here's the specific license: https://www.cslb.ca.gov/about_us/library/licensing_classifications/Licensing_Classifications_Detail.aspx?Class=C16

I don’t see any indications that the licenses are limited, maybe difficult to get? Those guys also can’t work on anything but fire systems with that license so it may be a small market. We installed a 1/2 mile outdoor fire suppression system and used our regular irrigation contractors (they were able to get appropriate sprinklers for the job). πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
