is there a good reason why long casts (beyond the regular cast character limit) still have character limits?

i've been sharing some longer form writing on X and would like to share it on here more natively than linking the tweet but it's often beyond the character limit

every day, i've been doing the math on when the @qrcoindotfun auction actually ends, so that i can make sure to be watching it and live tweeting on X.
