Daft Punk's Random Access Memories was the cardinal sin that baptized retroism. everything they worked on prior to that was a fresh sound. even as late as Tron Legacy and even after RAM on kanye's yeezus for example. but then their long awaited album was a retroist homage to disco.

ok, it encourages me to listen to albums one after another to see the progression. But generally, I think RAM is what made them very mainstream. Probably, dur to pop electro nostalgia sound and collabs. Before it was more iykyk, at least in E. Europe
