I was in Belize last week and the number of butterflies everywhere was remarkable, and it just hit home that we really did destroy the butterflies in North America. “You don’t know what you got til it’s gone” isn’t always true- sometimes you need to see it again to remember what we had. I was so happy to see so many butterflies and also so heartbroken that we don’t really have them anymore

I'm more concerned about the bees. Saw tons of them in my garden 10ish years ago. Maybe one or two this entire summer.
