Travel tip: don’t carry just one credit card, even if it’s an international card. Some places might not take your brand. Example: American Express is great but not accepted everywhere. Also have a visa or a Mastercard. 

Seems visa accepted more places. 

And be sure to get one with no Int’l fees or conversion charges.

but yes, Amex is no longer working in my country, Visa is everywhere (here), but I found MasterCard to be most widely accepted internationally (have not been to the states, though). I have Visa and MasterCard with me always. 

Revolut/Aircash virtual cards and top up accounts are also great, if you want to minimize risk.
