Only recommendation I have is get it checked by a professional. 

Don't take our advice, we know nothing about the seriousness of your injury. That said, from what I heard from people that had it, 1cm is usually the threshold between "therapy will solve it" and "have to get an operation". Depends on the disc, of course.

Don't skip on full therapy. Always do it till the very end. And then do the exercises at home, once the therapy ends.
