I have to be frank I do not understand channels on farcaster? Should I post to them? Should I post just normally? I care about Design (cant post there), I care about end user apps, I love to think about onchain more conceptually? I love to think about new tech that is not crypto and not just AI and I want follow builders who build in public where do I go?

No one does. Honestly channels have devolved into hashtags at this point and the dev team doesn't plan to do anything with them. I would say don't worry about it too much.

so just post directly. got it. How do you all find good people to follow. I am seeing starter packs? Are they used? Any recommendations?

Starter packs are a good start. I would say the best way to find good follows is to just browse the home feed and see what resonates. You can also take a look at channels that interest you and follow people who cast there.
