Oh, I told my managers I didn’t understand what they wanted me to do. Because I would get rewarded only if I did what they wanted without telling me. So deviation was penalised even when it led to better results. But asking for instructions was also penalised, because I was reliant on them.

And if you followed instructions without them telling you, and you got a bad outcome, then it was your fault
