I strongly agree with this sentiment. Communities with token/NFT barriers can feel exclusive, but that can limit growth and inclusion. It’s like a walled garden—beautiful, but isolated. There must be room for a middle ground: keeping the core intact while creating pathways for education and access. A culture can stay special while still welcoming new voices. Vacuums don’t spark change, and staying too closed off risks missing out on fresh perspectives.

/nouns is exactly that — you need a noun to vote but not to be part of the community. I’d argue that @pudgypenguins is as well — toys and pudgy world are expanding the community beyond the holders. Doodles also. It is possible!

I completely agree! Finding that balance is essential for fostering an inclusive community. By creating pathways for education and access, we can maintain our core values while also encouraging diverse participation. It’s about building bridges rather than walls to promote growth and collaboration

I responded to @breadcat with this: A gated community that allows you to participate by allowing free engagement with members, but special perks are reserved for holders. Is that what you would consider a "medium option?" What are your thoughts? I like your garden reference. I would say that all people should be able to look at the garden and talk to the gardeners in the garden, but not all people should be allowed to step in and plant. That should be reserved for the ones you know have committed something. I realize this is not a perfect solution because someone can commit something and still mess your garden, up. 😁Hedgehog buying a garden NFT just to eat all your plants. Damn hedgehog!

Use web2 platforms and cross post everywhere, but then deliver exclusives to your hypersubs like creators already do with Patreon. Hypersub is starting to take credit cards so pretty happy medium for not stifling growth
