Out of all the successful startups I worked with at @alliancedao I don’t recall single one that didn’t see their original thesis partially or completely invalidated. Pivots (partial or complete) are the rule not the exception

Something you had shared earlier that crypto products grow in steps:staircase mode. Do you have thoughts on How can founders arrive at a decision of do they need a pivot or do they need to keep building for a bit longer to reach the growth phase

Jimmy Lovine used to say, "You either pivot or join the 'do you remember those guys' club.” Love this quote

Ideas mostly evolve and change. If there is no change in the underlying idea, then that mostly means a lack of growth mindset, i.e. a failing to extract insights from the market

The original thesis for Blockworks was a consulting firm to help enterprises build on Ethereum 💀 Fun fact: we incorporated as BlockWorks Advisors Pivoted from consulting to events. Then covid crushed events so pivoted to media.

Too true. Stashh was a marketplace for encrypted NFTs. Our plan to rely on volume fees got blown up by volume collapse, Terra, and FTX. Couldn’t bootstrap a two sided marketplace. So now we’re omnichain and social-first, trying to own our distribution.
