🌶️ Hot Take: Adobe paid $1B getting to look at the internals, teams, roadmaps, and features of the biggest threat to their design tool business since Macromedia. Adobe may consider it money well-spent and it's not an uncommon win-win tactic as part of M&A due diligence. ♟️ Curious about Figma's next move.

I don’t that’s really a hot take at all, it’s a very reasonable take that makes perfect sense. I may not enjoy the business strategy of and reliance the design industry has had on Adobe for decades, but they’re not idiots.

That and also possible that they decided they don't need Figma any more now that AI is folding nicely into their playbook
