Serious question: Can someone be both a terrific parent (not just βgoodβ) AND wildly successful (not just moderately) in business? Or Are the temperaments, priorities, and foci for what makes someone wildly successful in one so inherently different, that they cannot optimize for both?

Can: Yes. Circumstances will wildly determine success. Spent ~8 years working FT while working on a side project. Kid was very young. Without my partner, I'd never have been able to juggle it all and be present as a dad too. With investors and a short runway, I likely wouldn't have had a good, balanced outcome.

Today: Different story. Same kid is in middle school, has a lot of independence and can include him in my new project. I'm still very mindful of not entering in a "fast growth at all costs" structure. Don't need to be the founder of a unicorn; just want to work with passion, grow smart, and still balance work/life.

Iβm in early stages of this and interested in reading a bit how you and partner managed the career aspects. Did one have to stay fully focused on kids or were both able to stay engaged in work, while raising kid?
