1. That article speaks to outcome, not causality. 
2. The SAG-AFTRA strike and lack of promotion has hurt a number of projects. 
3. Unfair media expectations that every Marvel installment has to do a billion dollars the first week. Also, misaligned incentives. "Doom" and drama articles get more clicks.

That’s exactly how I felt. Saw it with the family in the XD theater. We very much enjoyed it.
