Last year, Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Arvind Krishna, & others were saying 10-20 years out; this year they all say 3-5 years So what happened? So those are two big claims. What exactly is a logical qubit? In quantum computing, we separate out physical & logical qubits Physical qubits are prone to error because we can only observe an end outcome & we're unsure if we perfectly controlled the qubits to behave as expected

Now, once you have a reliable logical qubit, like Microsoft's Majorana "tetron" pictured below, you can tile them across a substrate using known 3-5nm chip manufacturing techniques. That means your 1st logical qubit is pretty close in time to your 1st 1000 logical qubits
