Is the term “public good” being thrown around too generously in the web 3 community? Remember, public good has to be “non-excludable and non-rivalrous,” meaning it can be consumed by many individuals simultaneously without reducing its availability to others Just because a protocol is open source or on a blockchain doesn’t mean it’s a public good. True public goods should theoretically benefit everyone, not just those who are directly invested or token holders within the ecosystem
