Yes. Virtue is good because itโ€™s decentralized self-control. The more virtuous the society, the more self-disciplined, the less need for centralized law enforcement, rules, and punishment in general. Virtue is why we can have nice things.

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god" I'm not religious but there is a reason for that phrase. If you are rich while others are poor, you aren't virtuous, unless you are doing everything you truly can to help pull them out of poverty.
