Can you search the target addresses transactions for the ENS contracts and infer from there?

I think the renewals are coming from a diff address than the owner

or maybe i misunderstood what you're suggesting?

Ahh. If you swapped it. The ENS contracts should still show record of the target address having received something. Maybe?
