To preview the math we’ll need here, consider a political candidate with unfavorability polling at 26% vs a *net* unfavorability rating of 26%. The first tells us that most folks (74%) were positive or neutral. The second that negatives far outnumbered positives. Very different!

It effectively offers capital income an interest-free loan: if I get $1 billion in unrealized gains at a 2010 IPO and owe $250 million in taxes, I can wait a decade and still only pay $250 million, with no interest, if I just don't sell in the interim.

Sorry to ruin the dreams of future real estate tycoons but NYC is not in fact giving away buildings at $9 per sqf. The property was sold for a 14.2% face discount, not 97.5%. @nytimes confused a tenancy lease with the property itself. Totally different assets! https://t.co/YRHjcY2vGA

I'm surprised Netflix hasn't come up with it's own physical media collector's editions yet, like A24 does. It feels like they're missing an opportunity. They could even have special pricing or pre-orders for subscribers.
