Had a very sobering conversation with my kids tonight about the state of U.S. politics. Itā€™s unsettling to think this is the world theyā€™ve grown up in - where division, anger, and uncertainty seem to dominate the headlines. I tried to stress importance of staying informed, being kind, and working toward positive change, no matter how challenging it feels. But man, does it feel challenging! Has anyone else had similar conversations with their pre-teen/ teenagers? Any tips or talking points?

Sounds like a heavy conversation, but necessary. Itā€™s a tough world to navigate, especially for them. I think youā€™re doing great by focusing on staying informed, being kind, and making a differenceā€”small steps can spark bigger changes.

These are some of their most formative years, so in some ways, Iā€™m glad Iā€™m able to have these sort of conversations with them. Itā€™s an opportunity to reinforce our family values, as much as address any concerns theyā€™re having.
