The USA is torn between under-feeling (callousness) and over-feeling (irrationality)

Both are responses to the same root problem -- unresolved emotional trauma. Some handle it with avoidance, others with anxiety

The pendulum will swing between the two until either the underlying issues are addressed or the country is depleted

solution wasn't bad though. it was violently rejected.

A solution needs to be good in practice, not just theory :)
