Had a very sobering conversation with my kids tonight about the state of U.S. politics. It’s unsettling to think this is the world they’ve grown up in - where division, anger, and uncertainty seem to dominate the headlines. 

I tried to stress importance of staying informed, being kind, and working toward positive change, no matter how challenging it feels. But man, does it feel challenging!

Has anyone else had similar conversations with their pre-teen/ teenagers? Any tips or talking points?

Not yet. Oldest is 4.
Generally remind him that the police/nypd cannot be trusted and to seek ambulance or firefighters in an emergency.

Ha, sort of sad that that’s the message we have to be giving our kids, isn’t it.
